Rita Bingham (Granny-B), grew up in Idaho and first set sight on her future husband in the back of an old pickup truck full of Boy Scouts at around age 13. She was a strong woman and always knew what she wanted, and she eventually married Loran Bingham in 1927. Later in the 1940’s they moved to Los Angeles where he started Bingham Electric.
Always a wonderful cook known for her caramels, Rita continued making them up until her 90’s, always with the same special recipe that had been passed down through the family from the 1800’s. Family and friends would always look forward to the holidays because that was the only time Granny-B would make and share her caramels.
Granny-B Goods founder Eric Bingham’s fondest memories are working with his Grandma Bingham in her garden and of course, helping her in the kitchen wrapping caramels since that always meant he got the first ones.
